So sad that 2014 is over, I really enjoyed it. I browse YouTube everyday and everyone was posting up New Years Makeup looks. I also wanted to share one with you all to close out the year so here it is. I was inspired by the AMAZING Jackie at MakeupGameOnPoint.com. The look she posted on her channel was gorgeous see it here, so I worked my look around it. I hope you enjoy!!
Honestly, 2014 went by too fast, like where did the time go? This year was filled with memories, accomplishments, heartbreaking international events, and so much more. As we come to the close of 2014, I would like to give thanks for the fact that I was given another year of life in this world. To me that is truly humbling.
As we start 2015, I wanted to give my blog as well as my channel a makeover. I completely changed everything here on RBG with a gorgeous new template by Pigdig. I came across their templates whilst reading other beauty blogs. Don't you love the new design? Nice and clean-no more clutter! I mentioned that I will be making some changes in regards to my YouTube channel. As with this blog, YouTube is something that I've realized that I want to do for a while. I truly enjoy filming, editing, and sharing my content with the world. So, fingers crossed, I will be posting new videos every week starting in January (maybe an extra video a week if possible). I'm really looking forward to this expected productivity.
2015 will bring hopefully A LOT to me: graduating high school, starting college, living in a totally new environment, making new friends, starting blog design and becoming an adult. God, that word scares me.
So all in all, I hope that everyone has had an amazing 2014 and in turn I will you a happy and healthy New Year.
Everyone knows that I am obsessed with gel manicures. They are easy, quick and last for a good while. My favorite brand is EZ Flow TruGel; they have a broad range of colors and are fairly inexpensive. I regularly post up new swatches of each shade and I receive questions on how long they last on the nails. While I am pretty content with the wear of these polishes, I tested my favorite shade 'Marshmallow' for 2 weeks to see how long my nails stayed chip-free. I did not take an initial picture (sorry), but you can take a look here to see a swatch of the shade on my nails right after I apply it. You can see these polishes have great wear-time, the only flaw I notice is of my nails growing out, so tacky.
You can see all swatches of the TruGels I own here.
I know I'm a bit late with this but I wanted to share this amazing sale with you. I'm a blogger parter with Cocotique and I did a review & giveaway with them a while back. I really suggest you jump at this amazing oppurtunity to get a box or two!

I have been obsessed with skincare these past months. I am a firm believer of your skin being at it's best in order for your makeup to look it's best. With that said, I curated a special wishlist this week based all around skincare products I've been eyeing.
I have been interested in the new Clarisonic Mia 3 since it's launch. This version has 3 speeds, a fancy timer, and beeps to alert you when to move on to another portion of the face. I've read amazing reviews of this brush by the amazing Sabrina at TheBeautyLookBook |read her reviews here| and I'm convinced at all it promises. I would use it at night to remove all traces of makeup and grime off of my face and to minimize my pores. This gold version I have pictured is limited edition (it also comes in white, red, pink, and black) and retails for $199. I don't think i'll be putting out $200 for this but it would make for a great x-mas gift!
While browsing Sephora's skin mask section, I came across this Peter Thomas Roth Pumpkin Enzyme Mask. It promises to resurface skin and leave it smooth with alpha hydroxy acid, aluminum oxide andpumpkin enzymes. Don't these ingredients sound so darn fancy? I am all for products that smooth my skin, so I think i'll look more into this.
I've used the Neutrogena Pink Grapefruit Cleanser for about 6 years now, I love it, but I want to try other things. A higher end option would be the Fresh Soy Face Cleanser. Soy has amazing benefits for skin and contains amino acids. I've read that this cleanser does not strip the skin of essential moisture. It retails for $15 for the 1.7 oz option and $38 for the 5.1 option.
It's Fall!! I hate Fall. I cannot stand cold weather. I need it to be above 75 degrees at all times. Oh well. Today I have a glamorous Fall makeup tutorial for you. I made it up as I went along, and it turned out gorgeous. Simple and inexpensive products were used as usual, and I hope you enjoy it!
Today I am bringing you all a brush set review. Almost a year ago I began working with the U-Spicy company in terms of their nail dryers and lamps. They have since came out with makeup brushes and asked me to review a set. I was so excited to receive, try out and share these with you! This set comes with 10 makeups brushes with a chic white handle and gold ferrule design. These are a spot on dupe for the Sigma Kabuki brushes. Each "big" brush has a matching brush but only "little", if you get my drift. I've had these for almost a month and a half so let's get into what my thought are.
So as stated above, these brushes have a white wooden handle and gold ferrule. I love the design as it makes the brushes stand out from the other ones I own. Sadly to say, two of these brushes have separated where the handle meets the ferrule. It doesn't irritate me that much because I was not using those brushes that much anyway (but it was dissapointing). Other that that I have not seen any other hardware issues with these.
My favorite of these big brushes are the 'round' and 'angled'. I use the round to buff in my bb cream and it does an amazing job. I use the angles to buff in blush. I have found that using this brush for blush makes it look like the color is coming from inside my skin. The 'tapered' and 'flat angled' ones are those that broke. I liked to use the tapered for my highlighter, and could be great for those who use cream contour products.
I love these smaller brushes because they have so many uses. I love the 'precision round' and 'precision flat angled' for applying cream eyeshadows. The 'precision tapered' one is great for cleaning up when I accidentally get lash glue on my eyelids. The smaller ones have shown me no hardware issues as well.
The bristles on these are synthetic fibers that are great for use with cream products. The bristles are soooo soft, and glide smoothly on the skin. When I received the brushes I washed them and I did not see any shedding. I have washed them again and still no shedding.
I think that these brushes are a great addition to any makeup collection. I love how versatile each brush is because you can find many uses for one brush. I love the quality and design of the brushes as well!
Charlotte Tilbury has recently released her own makeup line. I've been interested in it because of the wide range of shades to complement deeper skin tones. This Cheek to Chic shade in 'The Climax' is a gorgeous shade that would well compliment my skin tone. It would be great to double as a bronzer and blush for lighter skin tones as well. This retails for $40 but I would willingly purchase it!
I have recently started using a face primer under my BB Cream. I use the original Smashbox Photo Finish Primer. It makes my skin smooth and the BB cream smoothes easily on my face. I have huge pries on my face and I think that the new Smashbox Photo Finish Oil Free Pore Minimizing Primer would be great for me. I want to try a sample size first because $39 for a new product is a bit scary. They say it lasts around eight hours as well!
I mentioned last week that I am going crazy for skin care. This new Luna Mini by Foreo comes in two sizes, orginal and mini. I have the mini one shown because it cost a bit less at $139 rather than $199. I like that it channels T-Sonic pulsations through the skin for deep and gentle cleansing. I like that you dont have to replace the brush heads like the Clarisonic. It also comes in five fun shades; Magenta, Petal Pink, Turquoise (my favorite!!), Purple, and Cool Grey. Ayesha from Simple Beauty Blog has a video demo using this (see it here).
I've been obsessed with skin care these past few weeks. Korres is a great brand for natural and effective products, like their Wild Rose + Vitamin C Advanced Brightening Sleeping Facial. I love the idea of applying it after your normal night time skin routine and then sleeping in it. It promises to address uneven skintone and dark spots while improving skin quality for a brighter, more luminous complexion. If I can manage to dig out $48 out of my couch, I'll be purchasing it!
My favorite beauty blogger Huda Kattan raved about this foundation on her blog (see her review here). The new Dior Star Fluid Foundation has getting much attention these past few months. It promises a lightweight feel that evens out the complexion. I love that it gives the skin an illuminated look without looking greasy/oily. This high-end foundation retails for $50 (yikes)!
Everyone knows that I LOVE neutral eyeshadows. The new Chocolate Bar Eye Palette by Too Faced has been calling my name ever since it's release. I love that it contains everyday matte and shimmer shades. (see swatches here) I feel that I could really get 100% use out of it and I would spend the $49 on it because of that. But if anyone feels generous enough to gift it to me, I would love you forever. Have you heard that it smells like chocolate too??
It is that time of year!! I can honestly say that as I am getting older, time is flying by much faster. Next week will be my first day back at school so I thought it would be great to put out a tutorial. This is a very simple but glam look for your first day. I hope you enjoy!
Tom Ford really makes the best fragrances. I have been interested in trying one of his and Velvet Orchid is the one! It is a very sensual, mystical scent that would be mine right now if not for the hefty price tag. I am going to try and score a sample! (don't judge me)
The Ambient Lighting Powders by Hourglass have been out for almost a year now. I've had my eye on the 'Radiant Light' shade for months. I love it's promises: to blur imperfections and add a natural, ethereal glow. This would be perfect now that the summer is ending to give me an all year round glow.
Mac's Flat Out Fabulous lipstick is the perfect bright-but not too bright shade. I have seen it worn by many deep skinned beauties online and I am itching to try it. I love that it is a, all year round shade, worn great in the warmer months and a great fall/winter shade.
I am also in need of new jeans for the fall and some new makeup!
What's on your wishlist right now?
While not everyone wants long hair, everyone wants healthy hair. The lives we live takes so much out of our bodies, including our hair. That said, it is really important to give the hair what it needs to be healthy. Deep conditioning our hair can help drastically improve our follicles. So today I am going to share methods in which you can deep condition and my favorite products to do so.
So if you are new to this process, you need to find a conditioner that is ideal for your hair. I use a deep conditioner in my hair while at the hair salon. I think it is best to apply it all over the hair and to sit under a hooded dryer or steam machine. (This is an amazing article explaining why heat helps the deep condition process. linked here.) The collage below has a few that are great for individual hair needs.
The ORS Hair Mayonnaise is a protein treatment. If you continually use it, you should use a moisturizing conditioner like the Kanechom Leite de Cabre to balance it out. Using the ORS continually can make your hair straw-like because of all the added protein. Another great one for adding life back to dead-looking hair is the Silicon Mix by Avanti. I love this for giving my hair a really healthy and full of life look.

You can also deep condition with oils. I have started to do my own oil treatments at home. I always mention that I go to the hair salon for a full Dominican wash and set (if you don't know what a wash and set is, this is an amazing video showing it, linked here.) ever other week. So the week that I don't wash my hair, I shampoo my hair and do the oil treatment. I usually leave the oils in my hair until the next wash and set.
Jamaican Black Castor Oil is a cult favorite that works wonders. It stimulates hair growth and helps reverse thinning. I am loving Sweet Almond Oil because of its amazing ingredients. It contains Omega-3 and Vitamin E to nourish the hair with what it needs to be healthy. (I also use this on my face at night for a boost of brightness!)
Here are some of what I currently use to deep condition:
Silicon Mix Bambu Deep Conditioner helps moisturize and add life back to my hair. I use this every other week at the hair salon. It is applied all over my hair after shampooing and I sit under a dryer for 15 minutes.
Now Foods Sweet Almond Oil is something that I use when I do my hot oil treatments at home. I mix it with the oil below and apply it all over my damp hair. I leave this on overnight and it is washed out when I go to the salon.
Jamaican Black Castor Oil is the oil I mix with the Almond Oil. It is used to stimulate hair growth and I've seen people get amazing hair growth results with it.

I am in love with this gold bar necklace. I first caught sight of them on celebrities and fell in love with them. This one is from an amazing Etsy seller that engraves names into them. You can choose to have your full name or just one letter like I have engraved into plated gold, rose gold, or silver. I wear this everyday and I get so many compliments on it.
Many of you have probably heard of these new skin care masks that are taking the world by storm. These GlamGlow masks come in about 5 different formulas to target a number of skin issues. The price of each is $69. Yes, for one tiny jar. You all already know my reservations about spending that type of money on one item. So I looked on Amazon for some samples. I got the most popular of the masks, the Super-Mud Clearing Mask. After trying it, would I purchase the full size? Read on below.
You all know I love to deep condition my hair, they always end up in positive results for my hair. In reviewing all the Silicon Mix conditioners (see review here) I was suggested this Leite de Cabra by the Brazilian brand Kanechom. I was very excited to try as it had so many amazing reviews. So what do I think of this product? Does it compare to silicon mix? Is it my new favorite? Read on below!
I am so excited to be sharing this tutorial with you all. You all know that I do my own gel manicures at home. This is because salon prices are ridiculous and I just enjoy doing things myself. I have been asked to share how I do my nails at home and today I have! I hope the video is clear and informative enough. All products will be below!

Salam! Today I'm sharing an Eid Makeup and Hijab tutorial. If you don't know, Eid is a very special holiday that occurs in the Muslim religion. As a Muslim, I thought it would be great to share a makeup look for that day. I am very excited to be doing a look like this because I have never done one before. The makeup look is a gorgeous golf and red smokey eye and the hijab look is a very simple style. I'm hoping I shared some of my culture with you and you enjoyed the video!
I am so excited to show y'all this tutorial! It is a little different from the tutorial I usually do, as it's really simple. This look is really glamorous with Dramatic Lashes, Lush Lashes, and Bold Lips. I never do bold lips so this was a bit different for me but I love this look! I will be doing an in-depth review on the amazing lashes I used in the tutorial but for now, please enjoy the video!

I have to keep reminding myself that this is a lifestyle blog as well and not just a beauty/makeup blog. So with that said, I wanted to share with you my favorite products hygiene wise. These are products I use in the shower on a daily basis. I'm not going to focus on what I use to clean off my makeup because I'm saving that up for another post! So here we go!
So to clean myself in the shower I use Dial Yellow Bar Soap. I find that this cleans off all the dirt and oil that accumulate on my skin. I don't think it contains fragrance so it doesn't irritate skin. With that said it has a very clean scent that wont conflict with your perfume later on. It is also the best (for me) to use "down there", because it gets rid off any feminine oder. By the way, I use a washcloth because it cleans my body the best.
After I use the Yellow Bar Soap, I love to use the Bath and Body Works Shower Gel in 'Paris Amour'. Bath and Body Works has millions (not really millions) of scents to choose from. I love the Paris Amour scent collection because of its glamorous rosy scent. I use the shower gel after the yellow soap to add a bit of fragrance to my skin. I don't use this "down there" because its fragrance can throw off the pH balance. This also adds moisture to my skin.
After my shower in the morning I use the Bath and Body Works Body Lotion in 'Paris Amour' all over. As I said above, I love the scent. It is pretty moisturizing too so it is the perfect body lotion. I get so many compliments when I wear the lotion.
After my shower at night I use Extra Virgin Olive Oil, yes. All over my skin. I like to apply this when my skin is still damp so the Olive Oil isn't too think on the skin. This is a great moisturizer to keep the skin soft with out much fragrance to annoy me when I'm trying to sleep.
For deodorant I use Arm and Hammer's Essentials Natural Deodorant. This is an amazing deodorant to use because it is made with a natural (without parabens or aluminum) formula. It contains baking soda to keep odor at bay and has a clean fresh scent. After trying this, I will never use another brand.

I think that's it for my hygiene routine. I hope this helped any of you who need recommendations when it comes to this.
