Being a Broadcast Journalism major, being on camera is an everyday thing for me. Because of this, I wanted to make sure my favorite feature, my smile, was on point. I've teamed up with Smile Brilliant to try out and giveaway their teeth whitening system. You will have a chance to win store credit worth $139.95 (more info will be below). Let's take a look into the kit and what I think about it.
So inside my kit were; the teeth whitening trays, 3 catalyst pastes, 3 base pastes, 6 whitening gels and 6 desensitizing gels. You also get instructions on how to use the products.
Smile Brilliant used custom fitting trays to whiten the teeth. You first make molds of your top and bottom teeth with the catalyst and base pastes. You simply mix the catalyst and base paste together until they form a solid blue color, then you push them into the molds and place them onto your teeth for about 2 minutes then they harden. Custom trays were only available at the dentist office and cost more than $500. This allows for a custom whitening experience for a fraction of that.
You then send these back, free of shipping cost, and Smile Brilliant will return your custom teeth trays. This took about a week and a half to be sent back to me.
I usually whiten my teeth on Tuesdays and Thursdays, my teeth aren't too stained but I do have some yellowing. After brushing and flossing my teeth, I squeeze the whitening gel into the trays and place them on my teeth for about 30-45 minutes. I then rinse off the trays and my teeth and move on to the desensitizing gel. This is my favorite part! I place the gel into the trays and place them on my teeth for and hour. The gel has a great taste, not that I'm intentionally eating it, and it allows my teeth to be nourished so that I don't suffer from sensitive teeth. I do this process alone on Sundays as well.
I unfortunately cannot capture the difference in my teeth after using the system for about a month and a half. Overtime I take a photo, my teeth glare and they look exactly the same as before I started to whiten. But trust me, the yellowing on my teeth has significantly changed and I have an overall brighter smile.
I enjoy using the kit because it is extremely time efficient and allows for the gel to really impact my teeth hanks to the custom trays.
