Favorite Summertime Highlighters (WOC Friendly)
Wednesday, June 18, 2014
Out of all the makeup products I own, highlighters have to be my favorite. I love to collect different types from powder to liquid, pressed to loose. Even though they all essentially do the same thing, they are all very different especially when it comes to their colors. I have curated a list of my all time favorite Summertime Highlighters and added in swatches like a good girl. If you are lacking that 'glow' these will surely help you out just in time for Summer.
This was the first highlighter I ever purchased, and as you can see it is has been used quite often. It shattered months ago and I need to move it into a sifter container. But that is beside the point. This highlighter will give you that straight bronzy glow. It is deep brown, with gold that looks amazing on deep skintones.
This is my newest highlighter. It is a baked formula that looks great when applied wet. It gives a very metallic champagne sheen to the skin. When used dry, it gives a faint sheen to the skin. I like it because of it's great versatility. This is also a said dupe for Mac's MSF in 'Soft & Gentle'.
This looks white in the pan but when applied to the skin, is a gold shade. It is a bit chalky but when you tap it a bit off the brush, it looks great on the face. This is also a dupe for the Nars Highlighter in 'Albatross'.
This is my favorite highlighter in my collection (leaving out 'Starlight Bronze'). This is from an indy brand that isn't very 'known' in the beauty community. But more people need to jump on this! It is a gold, pink, champagne loose powder that looks like pixie dust. It gives the skin an AMAZING glow that looks like you are glowing from within. I'm currently trying to mix this in with my foundation to see the result!
This is a cream highlighter that is a gold to champagne shade. I like to use it as a base under a powder highlight to really bring out the inner glow. I apply it to the high points of my face and then blend it out with a damp beauty blender sponge. It is great for night time makeup looks.
