Coastal Scents Revealed 2 Palette Review + Swatches

Sunday, June 15, 2014

A few months after Coastal Scents put out their Revealed palette, a new palette was announced on their site. The Revealed 2 palette is a new neutral palette that contains shades similar to the Naked palette. I have the Revealed 1 and reviewed it here. This palette has 20 warm rose toned shades that are very complimenting to most skin tones. It retails for $20 on the Coastal Scents website.

This palette is housed exactly like its precedent. The cardboard housing has a magnetic closure for safe traveling. The first palette did not have a mirror, and this one does not either. Again, this would have been a great addition.

The colors in this palette differ greatly from the Revealed 1. These are more rose and pink toned. I love that there are blending/transition shades included as well. This makes it easier to create one great eye look with just this one palette. This palette contains 7 matte shades (which is more than the 1st palette) with the rest being shimmer shades. The matte shades are buttery smooth. Some of the shimmers are a bit chunky and give a lot of fallout. I highly recommend using a primer or a base under these. The swatches below are without any primer.

Overall I love this palette. I feel as though they greatly improved from the last palette. The colors in this palette are really wearable, and create many different looks. I think that a primer should be used to get the best color payoff and longevity. Also a mirror could really seal the deal to make this an everyday palette. Good job Coastal Scents!
